India’s first ‘Citizen Journalism’ platform, GudNewz, launched it’s website on 26th January 2021. The event took place at the amphitheater of Classic Rock Cafe. The Chief Guest of the evening was world renowned ballroom dancer & choreographer Sandip Soparrkar & Padma Bhushan Dr Vijay Bhatkar (virtually present).
The website allows any citizen from the city to report a good or a positive news in a picture or video format. This digital news platform is created for publishing local & positive news only! The GudNewz website also plans to promote local entrepreneur by showcasing the product & services in a story format.
GudNewz has a bunch of non-traditional reporters coming in from different industries like food, liquor, sports, banking, automobile, architecture, entertainment, etc. These reporters, a.k.a. Khabaris, are going to report the positive updates from their respective fields making it a content rich platform in the near future!
Dr Bhatkar in his virtual speech underlined the need for local & positive news. Also mentioned how this new platform is an innovation in the media industry. Mr Soparrkar in his speech connected the concept of GudNewz to ‘Kavachakundalas’ that protect us from all the negative things around & to ‘Laxman Rekha’ that separates us from the bad things outside & keeps us safe.
The launch also saw famous personalities like actor Siddharth Menon, CEO of Chitale group Indraneel Chitale, IT entrepreneur Dr Deepak Shikarpur, singer Shamika Bhide, theater producer Mr Sandesh Bhatt & Mr Rajkumar Chordia of Pravin Masalewale.
GudNewz as a concept has been developed by Alok Thakar & his wife Architect Anuja Kulkarni. They started GudNewz in Pune city using social media platforms & now are taking it ahead with a website, www.gudnewz.in
