Pune Municipal Corporation has instructed the officials to distribute free sanitary napkins to women Warkaris during their stay in the city. The administration has also decided to install sanitary vending machines at 15 places where the Warkaris will be halting in the city. The procession of Warkaris is scheduled to arrive in the city on June 22.

The PMC has also decided to set up free medicine distribution centres at around 21 places. Doctors of the Pune Municipal Corporation will provide free health check-ups and other health-related facilities to Warkaris till they depart from the city towards Pandharpur.

Lakhs of devotees are expected to attend the annual Wari procession to Pandharpur this year as it is happening after a gap of two years due to COVID. The procession of Sant Tukaram Maharaj has already left Dehu Temple on June 20 while the procession of Sant Dnyaneshwar Maharaj will leave the Alandi temple on June 21. They will arrive in the city on June 22.
