Weather is having mixed feelings about our Pune city off late. That gives us different moods and different opportunities to gorge on varied foods! For this kind of mixed feeling, Gatti Chutney is always ready with new and interesting dishes.
Whether it is raining or not, mostly the climate has been cold and just right for a cup of hot filter coffee. With the steaming cup of filter coffee, we tried a few different snacks rather than usual Idli, Wada and Dosa. Here’s all we tried this time at their Kharadi outlet. This one outlet is quite more comfortable than the one at Koregaon Park.
- Ragi Roti: This is a unique Kannada preparation using Ragi a.k.a. finger millets. Flavoured with garlic, chilli and ginger, Ragi Roti has a rustic yet flavourful bite. A plate of Ragi roti has two pieces and is served with green and red chutney. This is one Ragi preparation that may get you hooked onto this millet. Also, 2023 is Millet year as declared by the Government of India!
- Ghee Pudi Khara Bhath: Khara Bhath is the Kannada name for Upma, but added with a special masala while cooking. Topped with ample amount of desi Ghee and their house-made special Pudi! This is comfort food at its best and is perfect for the rainy weather too! The pudi adds a punch to the soothing bite of Khara Bhath. Being loaded with Desi Ghee gives you a complete ‘Gharwaali Feeling’. A cup of Filter Coffee and Khara Bhath at Gatti Chutney is the most comforting thing in the world!
- Rava Dosa: This is an unexplored part of Gatti Chutney’s menu and this part of their menu is an unexplored gem! Super crispy and laden with Desi Ghee, this Rava Dosa is one of the best in town. A sip of hot coffee and a bite of crispy Rava Dosa is just the right evening snack combination. Try it!
- Open Butter Masala Dosa: If you are looking for a heavy bite or replace your lunch with a heavy snack, then just go for it. The dollop of butter you see on the top will melt any foodie’s heart! The gooey potato masala paired with podi laden thick crispy dosa is an indulgent meal that you’re never going to regret, because it is healthy too!
- Rasam Shot: This definitely does not go with the coffee. But if you are feeling a little under the weather or not feeling like coffee, then just order a shot of Rasam! Spiced with herbs and a secret mix, this tangy concoction goes just awesome with Wadas and Idlis also. Or just drink it like that, it will open up all your senses!
If all this description doesn’t tempt you to visit Gatti Chutney, then we wonder what will! If you are a foodie, we know you are already headed to the best South Indian eatery in Pune.
