Not just one but there are multiple reasons why MadBom stands out from the kiosks that have popped across Pune over the last one year! It all starts with the classic cutting chai which is made typical Amrut Tulya style.
Introducing our latest exploration from Pimple Nilakh; MadBom- a coffee, chai and food kiosk. MadBom is very desi at its core but also quite modern in its outlook. This is exactly the reason why we got attracted towards it. We decided to feature this kiosk in a container for its Indian offering without imitating any other such kiosks!
Interestingly, the name is derived from filter kaapi coming from Madras and Masala Chai from Bombay. Both Madras & Bombay are cult cities which still have the identities intact despite the name changes! The menu is a homage to these two cities with dishes like Bombay Masala sandwich, Bun Maska, Bombay Pattice, filter kaapi, filter kaapi frappe, poha, etc.
Served in the traditional brass cups and plates, the masala chai gives you the exact kick you’d expect from Amrut Tulya. The same feeling goes down south towards Chennai when you sip their Filter Kaapi served in a modern style paper cup! Pair these hot beverages with a classic bun maska or Bombay Pattice and you hit the sweet spot.
The bright orange color container with crisp MadBom branding sits right outside The Soundtrack Cafe on the new DP road in Pimple Nilakh. There are a couple of high tables if you want to nibble on your snack like a European street cafe. This interesting mix of Bombay, Madras and modern European elements bring a unique identity to MadBom. This is a different food experience and one must try it.
