Darshan needs no introduction. Pune’s legendary restaurant is now renovated and kept the charm intact.
Darshan has made its place in every Punekar’s heart, irrespective of their age. What started as a juice bar in 1976, in 43 years has become a part of every household. It’s an all-veg multi-cuisine restaurant. And they’re super cool I say.
Darshan is renowned for keeping everything fresh. The juices are squeezed freshly only after it’s ordered. The pulps for milkshakes are also freshly extracted. No artificial colours, preservatives or MSG is used in food. The bread used in the restaurant is baked especially and fresh every morning. What’s even more special is the ice and the ice cream are churned in-house.
While there is no announcement or soft launch done for the restaurant after renovation, the evening I visited the place at Prabhat Road it was already buzzing. That’s the magnetism of Darshan. The owners have tried to keep the old place’s charm intact. The space is contemporized, but they’ve still tried keeping it similar to the old décor. The reason for it being, that the customers have a lot of memories attached to the place. While the newness will bring excitement Darshan wants to keep the nostalgia intact.
