Coming straight to the point, this fairly new food truck in Wanowrie, Ottoman Eats, serves the meatiest shawarmas in Pune! We, as food lovers, want to say ‘We Love You” to the team behind Ottoman Eats; Neeraj, Sagar and Aadesh; all hotel management graduates.
While coming from Salunke Vihar road towards Kedari petrol pump, it is hard not to miss the bright Ottoman Eats signage and their golden truck. As you move closer, the huge stack of marinated chicken, the long knife slicing the grilled part, pitas warming up and baklavas in the refrigerator become visible! And even before you realize, you get immersed in the Ottoman empire, foodies’ heaven!
Having heard a lot about the Shawarmas here, we decided to pay a visit to find out what the big deal is all about! Stunning flavours, crisp fresh ingredients and a wholesome pita roll filled with loads of chicken is what we found ourselves indulging in. They have made it a point that no one should complain about less quantity of chicken. So it is less of salads and chips, but just the good grilled chicken that forms the 80% of this shawarma. We dare to say that yes, this is the best shawarma Pune has ever got!
varieties like Puneri, Mint Mayo, Barbeque, Ottoman Special and a few more are definitely reasons enough to keep making a number of visits and that you don’t feel stuck with one flavour. You have the freedom to replace the pita with the traditional arabic bread, Khabus and Wheat Khabus too.
Urbanly highly recommends not to miss checking out their dessert counter especially for the flaky delicious Baklava they have. We requested for the baklava to be warmed up a bit and they happily did that too! Sweet folks!
In a foodies’ treasure named Salunke Vihar in Pune, this one is on the way to becoming a shawarma legend. If you haven’t tried it yet, you MUST. You definitely are missing out on something in life!
