Punekars, owners of Prem’s, Swig & Kinki have given Pune a new gem, Soy Como Soy is tucked in Kalyani Nagar.
The place emits a cozy vibe the moment you enter it. The mood is green and so are the plants. The wooden tables and the white ribbons covering the rooftop are all handmade. The earthy décor with soothing colors are the defining mood of the place. Like the meaning of the name ‘I am what I am’, one can just relax on the comfortable cushions of the place, be themselves and sink into the place.
The place happens to offer its first ever outlet to offer Nikkei Cuisine. It’s a mix of Peruvian and Japanese inspired ingredients and cooked with traditional methods. The food culture is inspired by European, African and Asian migrants in Japan. The food encompasses a range of multiple flavours.
The menu has an interesting collection of varieties not often seen in the city. Sours, Piscos and Chilanos are delightfully and carefully picked and paired with classic cocktails. There’s one for every taste bud. Sweets and sours are all taken care of. After we could tear eyes from the unique bar menu, we were happily exasperated with the food variety. If you are a sushi lover, the cold fish here is crafted with special secret sauces. The fish is marinated often overnight. The juices induce the fish and tantalize the taste buds perfectly. The bao bread was soft and almost melted in our mouth.
While the cuisine is still new in the city, the place is definitely worth a try. It might also feel a tad bit heavy on the pockets, but the experience is priceless!!
