Do you think chat is only savoured by today’s generation? Well, you are totally wrong! A legendary Bhel joint in Pune which was established Pre-Independance and has been running since 88 years, Pushkarini Bhel the perfect chat spot which has kept all the customers drooling since generations!

Started in 1935, by Vaman Prabhakar Mahendre, the legacy is now carried forward by Nithyanand Vaman Mahendre, the third generation of the family. We recently tried their iconic bhel and we’re still drooling over it! The plate is a colorful medley of puffed rice mixed with a tangy tamarind and jaggery chutney, freshly chopped onions, farsan and garnished with fresh coriander. But what made it stand out was the perfectly sliced pieces of raw mango, which elevates the taste of the bhel.

One bite and you can taste a perfect blend of tangy and sweet mixture with the right amount of crunchy texture of farsan. Pushkarini Bhel is not your average street food joint. They take freshness seriously and only use the best ingredients in their legendary bhel. The Bhadang (spicy puffed rice) used in their bhel is sourced fresh daily, giving each bite a satisfying crunch. The farsan is also made every morning to ensure the perfect texture. Let’s not forget about the sweet and tangy tamarind jaggery chutney which is made inhouse with organic ingredients and no food colouring or preservatives

At Pushkarini, the only thing they sell is bhel! They believe in putting their customers first and are dedicated to maintaining the quality of their signature dish. Owner Nithyanand Vaman Mahendre says, “Our customers are like Gods to us, so never want to disappoint them.”

Overall, Pushakarini bhel is a must-visit for anyone who appreciates fresh and delicious street food. The owner’s commitment to using the freshest ingredients available is evident in every bite of their legendary bhel!
