All coffee lovers in Pune have their favorite coffee places sorted, be it the latte, cappuccino, filter kaapi or just the simple instant coffee. There are those fancy cafes, Starbucks and the favorite south Indian places. But most of the Pune is unaware of this unique and fairly old coffee chain in Wanowrie called Coffee Jar for the simple good jars filled with coffee!
All freshly ground and freshly brewed coffee is served in a jar here with the milk on side at Coffee Jar, the cafe chain that already has about 5 branches in the same area. The jar comes in two sizes, small one makes about 2-3 cups and the large one makes 5-6 cups. Depending on the number of people with you, suggest the right one.
It’s the freshness of the coffee and the honesty around the place that has been bringing the patrons here over years. None of their branches are fancy or heavily decorated, just simple neat places that you need to hang around after work or with friends on a less busy day.
Pairing your coffee with a Butter Pound Cake is almost like a tradition here. This simple basic cake loaded with goodness of butter is not be missed at all. And yes, it’s got limited sugar so you can binge on it without disturbing the taste of coffee.
Coffee Jar does offer other regular options like Cappuccino, Latte and other cold coffees too. But it is the jar that makes it unique from other places around Pune and also brings the regulars for a quick hot cuppa!
Their Tandakccinos (Cold thick shakes) also deserve a mention here for the good flavours and creamy texture that you need on a hot summer afternoon. Same for the sandwiches and cakes they display. They are good for a snack and quite fresh too.
