The very famous Pho Truck of Balewadi has opened grandly in Kothrud and how!!
When we entered Pho Kitchen’s space in Kothrud we weren’t ready for the scrumptious range of healthy food it was going to offer. Vietnamese, Japanese, and South East Asian are their forte. No wait, their forte would be healthy food with abundant flavours I’d say. Or a perfect amalgamation of both.
Nagraj and Aparna, the owners and innovators of The Pho Kitchen call themselves people of madness but with a method. While Nagraj is purely from a hotel management background Aparna comes from engineering and marketing. Collectively they have experiences of 3 star Michelin restaurants in London, Mumbai and working with the best of marketing agencies.
The love for Vietnamese food comes from their street market experiences in London. The fresh produce, minimalism of ingredients but bringing out the best in them is all part of the process they use in the style of cooking.
They initially started with The Pho Truck, and have now moved to opening their space in Kothrud and of course are looking to expand more. Nagraj beamed proudly when he said he’s estatic with the response, especially so because their customers have additional requests every single time they re-visit the place. They trust, understand and love the food The Pho Kitchen serves.
Be ready to be surprised to be welcomed with small cups of sample (now don’t Punekars just love this word) of soups the staff serves to know your taste. Food is suggested accordingly then. Dim-sums with a twist, rolls in rice paper with raw fresh ingredients, noodles salad with a crisp element and sweetest of the sweet desserts are only a few things I’m mentioning here.
