The Bhimthadi Jatra (भीमथडी जत्रा) is back to support women entrepreneurs and self-help groups after 2 years in the city, with the theme of Environmentally Prosperous Village and the highlight of this year will be showcasing Devrai.
Every year Sharda Mahila Sangh, with support from Agricultural Development Trust,
Baramati, Agri College Pune, Nanded City, Baramati Agro organizes a four-and-a-half day fair at the ground of Agriculture College, Sinchannagar, Shivaji Nagar Pune.
More than 8500 women self-help groups have been benefited in the last 14 years.
“The fair was canceled in Feb 2021 at the last moment due to the second wave. This year The Bhimathadi Jatra will be held from 22nd December to 26th December 2021 following all the rules and regulations of the Covid – 19 pandemic,” said Sunanda Pawar, organizer of Bhimathadi Jatra.
Preservation of rural culture, tradition, quality rural food, and unique handmade and handicraft products made by rural women is the highlight of ‘Bhimathadi Jatra’.
There are 10 states Maharashtra, Gujarat, West Bengal, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jammu & Kashmir, Odisha, Haryana, represented, and 15 districts Pune, Satara, Solapur, Nashik, Jalgaon, Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri, Ahmednagar, Beed, Aurangabad, Kolhapur, Dhule, Nandurbar will bring in their eco-friendly products.
“The Jatra has 230 stalls along with the regular attraction of enjoying the rural feast cooked by the women to be enjoyed with family. You must be fully vaccinated to be allowed entry into the Jatra,” added Pawar.
22 December – 4 pm to 10 pm
23rd to 26th December – 10 am to 10 pm.
