This is a yearly pilgrimage for the lovers of Indian art and craft and Dastkari Haat religiously provides them with this opportunity every year around this time. The exhibition opened to a very warm response yesterday at Dutch Palace. This beautiful venue is adding the right backdrop to the gorgeous handmade products. These artisans and their creations represent the culture and karigari which is more than 1000 years old.

Handlooms such as Kalamkari, Kanjeevaram, Fulkari, Chanderi, Orissa, etc are present and you can even buy fabrics by the meter to stitch a shirt or even a skirt! Handicrafts like pottery, leather puppets, black stone pottery, bamboo art, metal brass work, leather accessories and so many more give you so much variety to shop from. The particular delicate glass art work of a live artist is a delight to the eyes! Woollen wear from Uttarakhand present at this exhibition is so spectacular and unique that any piece at their stall is a showstopper!

Punekars, plan your yearly visit to Dastkari Haat, meet the artist, understand their craft and shop loads for your Diwali! These artisans have traveled from 1000s of kilometres to showcase their talent to Pune. Chefs from Rajasthan have also come to Dastkari to put up a live food counter. Do not leave before trying their kachors, ker sangri, moong dal halwa, etc! Pick up the packaged homemade foods like papads, achars, chutneys, etc from various stalls.

Not just craft, food and clothing, but Dastkari Haat is also featuring a few talented artists such as painters, folk singers, dancers and many more! Indulge in this unique art therapy while buying original art and crafts. This is a beautiful opportunity not just to shop but to understand the art, craft and the artisans of India. Do not miss this one!
