Dedicated to the ladies who cook up a traditional feast at home, decorate the house and take care of traditions on all festivals! These ladies never get to really enjoy the feast while taking care of the other traditions and chores. So here’s a place made and dedicated to these hardworking women so they can enjoy the festivals and the feasts completely. They won’t have to bother about the house chores, exactly how it happens when they visit their ‘Maher’ (Mother’s house)!
Setup in a traditional bungalow with a small garden in-front of it, Maherpan Majhe has two halls which are decorated as per the festival and according to the function it hosts. Some of the events that are generally hosted by Maherpan Majhe are Birthdays, Vyahi Bhojan, Kelvan, Anniversary, Munj and Kitty Party. The venue is strictly available only for family functions and is decorated extensively according to your choice.
It was started by a lady entrepreneur, Mrs. Radhika Karve, with an idea of giving a place that feels like home for families to celebrate their traditional functions and get-togethers. Unlike hotels or resorts, this place serves you like your own home. Guessing from the gulab jamuns we tasted, the food catered for the functions must be really delicious. The menu comprises all the maharashtrian household delicacies which we have been eating for decades in our family functions.
The venue also offers a range of homemade thalis served on Banana leafs which adds to the overall homely vibe. The thalis can be customized to your own choice of food and the function hosted. The hosts also help you arrange the functions while catering to your needs of flowers, pooja thalis and other needs.
The place has two halls one large and one small where a group of maximum 20 people can fit in. Next time your family has a function to host, you know who to contact!!!
