NEED is an NGO working exclusively with Kolam tribe women from Yavatmal district and help them sell gorgeous sturdy Dohars made by them. Punekars have an opportunity to buy these Dohars this weekend at the exhibition happening in Navi Peth. Not just Dohars, but also various other beddings, linens and seating mats that are handmade will be up for sale!

Tanabana is an initiative stressing on Women Empowerment. It includes livelihood generation for women from the Kolam tribe of Yavatmal district. They come together and stitch various products like dohar, bedsheets etc. and try to sell them in metro cities. As of now, 65 Kolam women are a part of this and get benefitted by the sales that happen at such exhibitions!
They are bringing hundreds of designs in Dohars and bedsheets. These are hand stitched and hence are very durable. Also these products are made using natural and organic materials making them environmentally friendly! Starting from Rs. 50/- and going upto Rs. 2500/- there’s something for everyone at this exhibition!
