Did you know you could find transparent acrylic jhulas made of japanese acrylic sheets in pune? A Gujju bhai, all of 22 years old started this exclusive business of jhulas with his 3 friends in Gujarat some 10 years back. The Zula House, World of Swing owner, Jay Patel tried his luck in our Pune in January 2022 and is elated with the response.
The acrylic sheets are imported from Japan. Unlike the regular ones that turn yellow over a period of time these jhulas won’t lose their shine for 10 years! To make it quirky, you can get any design printed on the sheets too. The unique ones, including the royal stand jhulas seen only in palaces, or the pretty intricate sankheda jhulas are their speciality.
While the wooden ones, made out of pure sagwan wood, have customized carvings on them. Anything you like and they are happy to oblige. These jhulas also have reversible centers. Put it in the center of the house and turn it to any side you want to shift the party to.
Ropes for these jhulas are the usual hooks that we usually see or rope design made out of steel. There are also options of brass hooks. The karigars for these are called especially from Gujarat to do the fittings.
The store offers a million options of colors and fabric for customising the cushions of the jhulas.
The Zula House have their branches in Surat, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Jaipur and Andheri. The staff here are local and Marathi speaking people that live close by. While Jay does feel not knowing the language a small hiccup, but he’s made the city his own now.
