Pune designers create an earthy yet classy beauty in Bengaluru!
A lot of us usually interpret earthy tones and rustic finishes too raw to be used for the home interiors. When it comes to our own home, we usually are skeptical to use these tones and finishes. We think somehow the home might look unfinished, incomplete and quite harsh too! Looking at today’s featured home from Bengaluru designed by Pune designers, you might just change your opinions because we did too!
Abode 23 by Salmon Pink & Co
This 3800 square feet Bengaluru home, located in Indiranagar, showcases seamless class. The clever use of white against the earthy tones of beige, grey and brown balances the overall look and add a touch of sophistication. The meticulous use of wooden, rattan, jute and concrete texture with peaceful earthy and pastel shades of green and rust, is what makes this home an absolute beauty.
This duplex penthouse features two bedrooms, living room, dining area, kitchen and utility on the lower level. Upper level houses a bedroom that is converted to a home office and the master bedroom, paired with a walk in closet.
The living room embraces neatly finished grey concrete walls and ceiling that provide a perfect canvas for the bold rust sofa. The rooms comes alive with this rust sofa, adding a splash of warmth and personality. The highlight of this space is the bespoke hanging light with concrete pendants and copper finished metal elements. The harmonious blend of these crude elements muted tones of wood and ratan to an adjoining sofa and other elements adds subtlety to this space. A well composed symphony of contrasts is what makes this area energetic and homely.
The living space also houses a very minimal TV wall. The clean white wall behind the TV with sleek open display shelves gives a very chic look to the place. A diligent use of veneer in this area for the ledge and the cabinet beside the open shelves balances and harmonises the marble flooring, the TV wall and the dramatic concrete surroundings.
The living room extends to the dining area with an adjoining kitchen. The religious use of shades of green for both spaces makes them stand out from the living area. The dining space is characterised by chesterfield olive green chairs and a plain grey dining table. The use of Oakwood, mint green and fluted glass doors characterised by black profile handles add quite a modern touch to the kitchen. The use of whites for kitchen platform and walls makes this cooking space neat and tidy.
The overall use of rattan features, sleek handles, wood and shades of brown gives all the bedrooms and allied spaces a warm and cozy look. What catches the eye is the home office and the master bedroom on the upper level.
The home office room has a cobalt coloured entrance door with fluted glass. This adds a pop of colour and accentuates the overall look of the room as well as the surrounding areas. The room features sleek and seamless wooden working table and similar shelves above, mounted on a white wall with wooden flooring.
The master bedroom is characterised by a completely modern look. The mint green bed back wall and the patterned panel in same colour is the focal point of this room. The grey bed, beige side tables, modern black bedside lights and other white walls are otherwise muted features in the room.
Overall, this house embraces natural elements, rugged textures and modern features and colours that transcends the passing fads. The interior designers, Muktha Prabhu and Rashmi Soni from Salmon Pink & Co. have carefully incorporated rustic elements to evoke a sense of tranquility and connection to the nature while keeping the modern-ness intact.
