What do you do when the Ganpati festival is starting on the 31st and your murtikar says he will deliver your murti on the first? Read on to know how Mahesh Bariya found a solution to it.

This businessman and core nature enthusiastic is a happy-go fellow. So when he found out their office Ganpati idol is arrving a day later, he did not freak out like his business partner. He laughed first over their predicament. Later when his partner stepped out to somehow find an idol for their office, this artist at heart took a big leaf from a money plant pot in his office. Some haldi, chandan and chunna were diluted in different bowls with water and tada!! His ganpati was ready.

The surprise and shock were visible on everyone’s face when Mahesh did this. But now worshipping this unique Bappa idol has become a special part of everyone’s life. The caretakers have kept the leaf in a bottle of water like every money plant is supposed to. The colours are still intact, and the leaf is still fresh. No artificial lights are used to highlight this Bappa. It is emanating its own charm because of its distinctive and quirky personality. The aarti still happens like at every other big or small place. Nothing has changed because the soil is a little utilized for making the idol.

Mahesh has decided to use this or some likewise technique every year from now onwards. He says ‘I hope with this, fewer hearts are broken after seeing the half-immersed idols that are visible every year after water levels recede in rivers or lakes’

Urbanly is very happy and almost overwhelmed to showcase the most unique to its readers. And together with Mahesh and his team hoping to inspire a few and promote healthy, conscious and thoughtful living with mother nature.
