MSRTC employee strike ensured that passengers across Maharashtra faced major inconvenience. Also, the private cab and buses companies took (dis)advantage of the situation and started charging exorbitant fares from the passengers who are stuck.

Amid this scenario, one organisation stepped in to ease the situation by providing affordable and quick bus service from Pune to Mumbai. It was the chairperson of Indira Institutes, Dr Tarita Shankar, who thought of helping out the stuck passengers on Pune-Mumbai highway and quickly arranged a bus with the help from Purple Travels at a nominal fare of Rs. 250/-

The entire staff of Indira Institutes stepped in to help and within a matter of a couple of hours and this service was arranged! All this happened when the cabs and other private operators were looting the passengers with fares like Rs. 800-900/- where the usual fare is not more than Rs. 350/-.

While talking to the management of Indira Institute, we got to know that the institute plans to continue this service until the strike is called off. The bus will leave everyday from wakad at 4pm and the ticket for the same can be bought from the Purple Travel office at Wakad stop on the highway. If there’s a need for more busses, the institute plans to introduce more buses in the coming days.
