Two more days and our Pune city will welcome lakhs of warkaris walking from Alandi for a two day break. Sant Dnyaneshar Maharaj palkhi is a yearly tradition that dates back to centuries and is an important cultural part of Maharashtra.
Thousands of Punekars host these warkaris on their two day halt in their homes, commercial halls and also serve them food in huge quantities. There are many who wish to serve food to warkaris, but do not have the necessary equipment, expertise or the space to cook the food in such huge quantities.
This is where sweet and the genuine owner of Hotel Abhiruchi, Ravindra Baraskar steps in. His restaurant is dedicated for two days to cooking food only for warkaris and you can ask them to cook food only at material cost. You can distribute food bought from them at prices as low as Rs. 15/- for 250/- gram packed pulao per person! For those wanting to distribute roti meals, in Rs. 30/- only you get a packed meal of 3 rotis, sabji and pickle.
Warkaris will arrive in Pune on 22nd June and will leave for Pandharpur by walking on 24th June morning. In between, if you wish to distribute meals to them in as many numbers as possible, just call Ravindra Baraskar of Hotel Abhiruchi and he will cook the food on a No Profit No Loss basis.
His restaurant, Hotel Abhiruchi is located inside the Indulal complex on Lal Bahadur Shastri road, Navi Peth. Contact them at the earliest if you wish to ask them to cook food that you’d like to distribute to warkaris. Number shared below.
