ANVIT, the first intelligent parcel delivery system in Pune, is deployed at the Infotech Post Office in Phase 1. Residents of Wakad and Hinjawadi can now use a One-Time Password to receive their missed shipments. The Postmaster General of Pune inaugurated this machine that can store parcels for 7 days. India Post makes two attempts to deliver any parcel, it also notifies the customer if the package cannot be delivered even after the second attempt. The Parcels are then stored at the local post office for up to 6 days. If the customer does not physically collect it within this period, the package is returned to its source.

The Infotech Park Post Office serves 80,000 to 1 lakh people in Hinjewadi and Wakad area.
India Post now hopes ANVIT will solve the last mile delivery problem in the region with its new 24/7 smart parcel collection service. With ANVIT being installed, the postman will send a one-time password to the specified phone number along with the undelivered parcel. After confirmation, the box with the parcel will be unlocked for the customer to collect. Similar machines are installed at two post offices in Washim as well as Thane.
