The Pune police received the best unit award for the year 2020 at the senior police conference held in Mumbai. Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil presided over the conference, where the Pune police unit won the award for solving more than 7000 crimes in the city.

Police commissioner Amitabh Gupta received a trophy and certificate for this achievement.
“The Pune police have shown immense hard work in solving the crimes in the city, to achieve this award and I wish them success in the future too,” said Walse Patil during the conference.

Amitabh Gupta, commissioner in his tweet said, “We are trying our best but still a long way to go. Will strive to address all issues, big and small consistently and make Pune one of the safest cities anywhere in the world with your support and inputs.”
He also added, “We are very happy to have received this award for the unit for we work together as a team and it is all because of teamwork in terms of crime-solving, law and order in the city and overall administration.”
