A drowning woman was rescued by two citizens with the help of two fire officials. The incident occurred on October 7, 2021 near the new flyover in Bund Garden, Pune.
The 50-years-old woman belongs to Kuruli village in Gulbarga, Karnataka. She had arrived in Pune three days ago in search of work. After being disappointed and due to strained family relations, she attempted suicide. Two locals, Bhausaheb Chormale and Sopan Pawar witnessed the incident and informed the nearest Police Station.
The PSI of the Parnakuti Police Station, Ravindrakumar Warangule, upon receiving information, immediately reached out to the Pune Fire Brigade. Two fire officials, Hanuman Chakor, Dattatray Satav under the guidance of Senior Police Inspector, Yunus Sheikh, Yerawda Police Station, rescued the woman in time.
