Poona Music society is hosting two Artie’s festival concerts – Chamber Music in association with Alliance Francaise de Pune. The concerts will be held at Mazda Hall, Dastur School on June 4th at 7:00 pm. and 5th at 6:30 pm.
A brilliant line-up of artists will be present to perform a mix of classical and modern music with the aim of the initiative is to provide a multicultural experience of music. International artists pianist Romain Descharmes, violinists Cyprien Brod, and cellist Gauthier Herrmann will be performing for the concert.
Gauthier Herrmann is a passionate cello player with a focus on chamber music, as well as the founder and director of “Artie’s Festival”.
Cyprien Brod started practicing the violin alongside other activities. After listening to the Hilary Hahn’s concert, he was inspired to devote himself to music and make it his profession.
Romain Descharmes was awarded First Prize in the Dublin International Piano Competition in 2006.
Descharmes is much sought-after as a chamber musician; renowned for his attentive, sensitive playing and wide repertoire, which ranges from sonatas to larger ensemble pieces, and lieder.

Artists will perform “Beethoven: Piano Trio, Op. 97 ‘Archduke Trio’, Pablo de Sarasate: ‘Gypsy Airs’ Op. 20 and Brahms: Piano Trio No. 3 Op. 101”.
On Sunday 5th June at 6.30 pm, Mazda Hall
Artists will perform Beethoven: 10 Variations on ‘Ich bin der Schneider Kakadu’, Op. 121a,
Edvard Grieg: Cello sonata Op. 36 and Ernest Chausson: Piano Trio Op. 3
