Established in 1952 by Prabhakar Ketkar and now run by his youngest son Harshwardhan Ketkar, Friends Music Centre has always been a delight for singers, composers and other artists. This legacy was carried forward and in 2006, Harshawardhan Ketkar turned this Jukebox centre into a Digital Recording Studio.
What fascinates most about this studio is that they still provide Cassette and VHS conversions into Digital formats such as pen drives. Now you can relive your memories of wedding video recordings, childhood video recordings or music recordings by converting it all in digital format. Not to forget, that Friends Music Centre also provides Classic and Evergreen music tracks, which aren’t found anywhere else nowadays.
All the old classic tracks, be it theatre music, movie classics etc, Friends Music Centre will definitely make it available for you! As they have all the music data recorded and preserved since 1952! Data from Long-Play records, Extended Play records, Cassettes and much more huge collection have been recorded and made available for all.
On the other hand, the studio is also known for their Post-Production recordings, Dubbing, Voice-Over recordings and much more. Till date, all these Audio and Video facilities are available for all.
Not to forget how this legacy was started with a unique idea for music lovers. A thoughtfully curated studio by Mr Prabhakar Ketkar once offered a unique space for music aficionados! The studio had a total of 3 cabins amongst which, one was a Mezzanine Floor. This floor had a Maharashtrian Seating’ specially designed for classical music. A mind-blowing fact that all these cabins were made Sound Proof back in 1952! Long ago in that era buying an audio tape wasn’t affordable for everyone, hence people used to pay minimal amounts at the studio and listened to their favourite music. All music tracks used to be recorded and played in LP Vinyl Record & EP Vinyl Record formats.
Not only regular customers but reputed artists also cannot resist themselves from visiting this studio. Well-Known artists such as Sachin Khedekar, Swapnil Joshi, Anvay Bendre, Devaki Pandit have often visited the studio. As well, the legendary classical singer- Pandit Bhimsen Joshi used to be their regular visitor back then.
