Review
I should stress how happy I am to see PIXAR on the big screen again, the animation here is still so gooooooood.
The movie starts off with a pretext taking us back to Toy Story where Andy bought a toy of Captain Buzz Lightyear after watching a movie. This is that movie.
The character of Buzz seemed too serious as opposed to Buzz in Toy Story where he had more of a comedic side and took himself entirely too seriously. I did like Sox A LOT! I would die for that little robot cat. So, so funny, largely thanks to Peter Sohn’s performance. Chris Evans fits the bill.
The story is pretty scantily written which ultimately affects the pace, but the sci-fi-action aesthetic is awesome. I just wish it was all given more time to breathe.
I can see why this was Andy’s favorite movie. Lightyear is Pixar’s true dive into sci-fi and it’s a blast! The film may prioritize action over heart, but it’s a ton of fun, with plenty of thrills to infinity and beyond. This is an exciting adventure your family will love. If not a whole lot else, this is a great case for Pixar featuring more action boom-booms in their movies.
INFINITY AWAITS!!!!
Spoiler Alert
P.S It has the red hot Multiverse trend embedded in it.
