Swanky new confortable seats, polished floors and chandeliers hanging in the lobby greet you in the newly renovated Vasant Cinepro. This is the same erstwhile Kirloskar Theatre to Vasant Talkies, a 110 year old legacy of a single screen theatre which was famous for premieres in the heart of the city near Natu Wada.
With the city slowly losing the single screen theatres, Cinepro private limited is helping to revive these theatres and give them a new lifeline as Vasant Cinepro, completely equipped with state of the art technology equipment like screen, Dolby surround sound system, comfortable seats and bright new atmosphere similar to that of a new age multiplex.
Gaurav Shah is one of the partners with the Tapre family, the owners of Vasant talkies, who has brought in the technology to turn the business around for the single screen owners. “We are looking at helping retain the old cinema theatres which have the capacity to renovate and modernise them to extend the feel of a multiplex. Hence the new Vasant Cinepro is now air conditioned, with brand new equipment from projectors to the concession stands.”
The theatre capacity is of seating 300 patrons and is divided between upper and lower stalls. The lower stalls ticketing will be approximately between Rs 50/- to Rs 80/- upper stall depending upon the cinema release for morning shows while the last shows will cost Rs 100/- for lower stall and Rs 130/- for upper stall. The parking is only for two wheelers.
The Vasant Cinepro will open its door to public on Friday, 18 February 2022 with the film Pawankhind.
