Right from Kashmir, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Delhi to even artisans from Afghanistan have come to Pune to display their craft at Craftroots. The materials range from precious stones, silver, glass, silk, leather, wood, brass, cotton and different metals.
The intricate work on silk, wool and khadi by all artisans simply took our breath away. The designs of jewellery are something we have never come across, special mention to the Afghani karigars!
Chikankari, Warali, Lippan, Pichhwai, Kalamkari, Pashmina, Wire Art, Kuttputli, Pottery, Block print, Bandhani, Leather Puppets, Bead work and what not! All these art and craft forms have an amazing representation at this exhibition brought to Pune by Gujarat’s NGO, Gramshree.
