Shrujan has been working extensively with rural craftswomen of Kutch, Gujarat for quite many years. As a not for profit organisation, they design products and provide the materials to the craftswomen to work on those designs. Since all products are handmade and made using natural materials, all of them are unique pieces of art.
Starting from gorgeous sarees to intricately designed bags, all sporting the art of hand embroidery will be on display at Monalisa Kalagram in Koregaon Park. Shrujan, which means Creative People in Sanskrit, has given an opportunity not just to the rural craftswomen but also to urban dwellers like us to indulge in Indian handicrafts.
Sustainable fashion and accessories like bags, blouse pieces, sarees, Kanchli (tops), wall art, clutches and a lot more would be featuring art-work by 2500+ female artists of Kutch and 50+ hand-embroidery styles. This two day exhibition will feature variety of such products that will stand out in your house and your wardrobe as well.
The products will travel hundreds of kilometers only for us Punekars and Pune has always appreciated art and craft from across India. We are sure Punekars are going to flock to Monalisa Kalgram to appreciate and support this craft from Kutch and a lot of shopping is going to happen this festive season!
