BleeTech, a Pune based initiative for deaf kids founded by socially enterprising ladies, Janhavi Joshi & Nupura Kirloskar; has launched a new campaign for Diwali gifting!

One of their initiatives BleeBooks for kids is an effort to make books accessible to kids who are deaf. The books are in pictorial storytelling format!

Their latest accessible book, ‘A Ramaa Paani Pi‘ is India’s first story book made accessible for deaf kids. A book that can be enjoyed by kids with and without disabilities. So we appeal that this Diwali, gift a book not only to your child, but to a deaf child!

When you buy this picture book we gift another one to a deaf child from our end!

You can buy the books from: https://www.bleetech.in/shop

More about BleeTech:

During COVID pandemic and the lockdown, Bleetech has distributed accessible books to over 1500 deaf kids. This time, they are aiming to reach 5000 deaf students with the new books and Sign Language app.

The intensity of problems faced by children during the lock-down increased manifolds for children with disabilities. Their only avenue for a social life is at school, with friends and teachers. The common set of problems seen in deaf kids is high anxiety, unawareness about COVID-19, victims of violence and abuse, risk of dropping out of schools, etc.

During COVID pandemic and lockdown, Bleetech has designed a new program to encourage kids to engage in learning activities from home. Bleetech’s new learning solution consists of:

1) BleeBooks

BleeBooks are specially designed for deaf students with stories and activities for deaf kids. These books are also connected to the BleeTV Library app through QR codes, which gives them access to content in Indian Sign Language.

2) BleeTV App

With content in Indian Sign Language, the app makes remote learning accessible to deaf students, and also makes assessment and monitoring transparent.
