This place is a dream come true for Indian craft enthusiasts.
This isn’t your typical art Haat, it’s a grand celebration of India’s rich artistry featuring 30 master artisans, including Padma awardees, National awardees and even a UNESCO awarded artist. Each artisan would bring with them, a treasure trove of crafts that have been passed down to them through generations. This is some serious art talent coming together in one place! The event is special because it offers visitors a rare opportunity to witness their mastery up close, meet the artists, learn about their arts and purchase their creations directly from them.
The artists hailing from diverse regions of India such as Gujarat, Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal and Odisha would bring crafts that reflect their hard work and India’s rich cultural tapestry. Visitors would be able to explore the intricate beauty of Phad paintings by Prakash Joshi, vivid colours of Bagru block printing by Lal Chand Chhipa, the heritage of Kalamkari painting by Jonnalagadda Niranjan and the interesting patterns of Sanganeri Art by Santosh Dhanopiya. All of them are National awardees. Prakash Joshi leads the beacon with both National award and a UNESCO award. The bazaar will showcase, Banarasi silk, Gond Paintings, Pattachitra art and much more.
The bazaar not only stands out for its workmanship but also because, it is totally funded by the artists. Despite minimal means, these artisans are coming together in the hopes of reaching larger audiences and receiving the much-deserved recognition for their work.
Renowned directors R. Balki and Gauri Shinde would inaugurate the exhibition, giving it a little celebrity touch. Mooralal Marwada, a folk singer famous for this work with Coke Studios would be performing live for the visitors.
When you support this exhibition, you’re doing more than just shopping. You’re taking a part in keeping Indian cultural heritage alive.
