Exhibition’s name, Yaadein, itself got us drawn towards it. We couldn’t help but enter the historic campus of Bhandarkar Institute today morning. We are so glad we visited Yaadein! It is a vintage collectibles exhibition unlike anything else we have experienced so far in Pune!
Curated by Vishal and Poorva who are both art directors by profession, Yaadein is a unique exhibition of vintage collectibles that are in working condition. Some of the items that are vintage have been upcycled as well!
Happening over this weekend till 3rd September at Bhandarkar Institute, this exhibition is a unique treat for those who appreciate old world charm and all things vintage! For these 3 days, Vishal and Poorva have kept a variety of working vintage items like Gramophones, Typewriters, Transistors, Upcycled lights, Fans and what not! The collection of old cameras they have is worth our appreciation, and they are all working too!
We came across some gorgeous boxes made of metal having beautiful carving and mirror work. Old film posters, Brand posters, trays, furniture pieces, etc are a treat for your senses. The venue adds up to the whole vintage feel of this exhibition. Stone building, old style staircase leading up to the exhibition, classic old Hindi songs in the background set the mood right! And that’s when you realize that this exhibition is a work of artists and not businessmen!
This is a pure work of passion and creativity. That’s one strong reason for you to visit. And not to forget, all the vintage stuff on display is up for grabs!
